This Floral Luminary was made on the potters wheel using a translucent bright-white porcelain. This means that where the clay is carved thin, light passes through. I carved the flowers by hand, took away clay below the flowers, and glazed it with a crackly aqua and clear. With the addition of a candle, this piece will cast a cascade of romantic shadows of petals and leaves.
